Written in 1958, Bull in a China Shop is a comedy bordering on farce, a ridiculous romp full of kooky characters. Gilford’s play takes the “old maid” trope and introduces us to the amorous elderly ladies living in Hildegard Hodge’s boarding house - mature gals who are obsessed with a middle-aged cop who lives across the street. Think of it as a sorority house for grandmas!
Naughty old women. Morbid humor. A bit of a mystery.
